Speedy Hire, the Newton-le-Willows based plant and tools hire specialist, has clinched two new contracts and agreed extensions to two more, worth a total of more than £30m.
The company will provide mobile generators to telecoms giant BT to support its network of more than 6,000 telephone exchanges in a year-long deal with an option for a further 12 months.
A two-year sole-supplier deal has also been signed with Tube Lines, the company upgrading three of the busiest lines on the London Underground.
It covers provision of tools and equipment such as lifting gear, accommodation, communications solutions and bespoke training packages.
Also, a five-year preferred supplier agreement with oil group ExxonMobil has been extended for another three years to 2016 at a refinery in Southampton.
And a similar arrangement with civil engineering and property services contractor Osborne for a further three years has been struck until 2013.
Speedy Hire chief executive Steve Corcoran said: “These recent contract wins and extensions demonstrate the group’s ability to win and retain good quality work in its target sectors.”
Earlier this month, the company signed a five-year deal with the Middle East and North Africa joint venture of builder Carillion, as part of its strategy to diversify and strike key partnership deals with some of its major clients to offset the effects of the credit crunch, which has contributed to a 28% fall in interim sales.
