Speedy Hire wins national environmental award
Speedy, the UK's largest tool and equipment hire company, has been awarded a prestigious award by The Green Organisation - an independent, non-profit environment group that recognises and promotes environmental best practice around the world.
The win - for its environmentally friendly on-site accommodation unit, the EnviroCabin - makes Speedy the first hire company to be selected for the award.
The EnviroCabin was developed by Speedy in partnership with Simons Construction, environmental specialist Frankham Consultancy and a cabin manufacturer as a way of reducing the environmental impact of the construction process. The cabin is now in use with other leading UK construction companies.
At a ceremony hosted by The Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, the Green Apple award was presented this week at the House of Commons by international actress Alexandra Bastedo.
