St.Helens motors ahead
An innovative St Helens firm has been awarded £21,000 to help them develop a gadget to reduce emissions in diesel vehicles.
Kleen and Green Motoring Solutions recently secured £16,000 from Natwest and £5,000 from St Helens Chamber's entrepreneurial kick start challenge fund.

Their device, which increases the volume of air in an engine to eliminate drag, costs up to £500 and has already been fitted in more than 1,000 petrol vehicles in the US and UK.

Benefits include an increase of up to 25 per cent in fuel efficiency and a cleaner running engine.

George Heeley, managing director of Kleen and Green Motoring Solutions, said: "Our main strategy this year is to develop the diesel version of the Passive Turbo and to bring this to market. We are confident the combined benefits of lower fuel consumption and reduced engine emissions will prove attractive to motorists, given the high cost of diesel at present."

Barry Keeble, of Nat West in St Helens, added: "George has done a great job to date in bringing the petrol version of this product to market.

His skills as an engineer impressed both ourselves and St Helens Chamber and we are happy to back his plans to market a diesel version of the product."
