Lancashire Tea brews up support for Town Hall tea dances
Newton-le Willows tea manufacturer, Lancashire Tea Company is proud to announce its support for the forthcoming St.Helens Live ‘09 Tea Dances to be held at the Town Hall.
Lancashire Tea will be providing perfectly blended cups of tea to refresh the dancing crowds expected at the seven tea dances to be held throughout 2009, putting the ‘cha’ into the cha cha cha.
Lancashire Tea supplies its fine produce to major supermarkets across the UK and believes its support to the local tea dances is a natural choice to showcase its fine teas, coffees and biscuits to the people of St.Helens and beyond. The company will provide staff to serve their excellent range of goods in the Town Hall Assembly room to tantalise the taste buds of the ballroom enthusiasts.
The company is the brainchild of Paul Needham and Lynn Hitchen, who have almost 40 years' experience of working in the tea and manufacturing industry. Lancashire Tea Company boasts a new state-of-the-art, 10,000 sq ft production and storage facility in Newton-le-Willows at the heart of the Northwest. The plant has the capacity to produce 2,000 tea bags per minute – more than 2 million cups of tea a day. As well as producing tea bags the firm has started producing loose-leaf tea and launched a coffee brand called Eclipse.
The company is also a double Guinness World Record holder, producing the world’s largest cup of tea in a1.2 metre cup and successfully manufacturing the world’s largest tea bag, which weighed in at 60kg or the equivalent of 60 bags of sugar.
Paul Needham, Managing Director, Lancashire Tea, commented: “We are delighted to be supporting the Tea Dances and sharing our fine tea with the people of St.Helens. We believe we have the best premium tea in the market and hope that our support will help to promote our brand to a wider audience who can support us by buying Lancashire Tea from their local supermarket. This is a great way of supporting community events and promoting local businesses."
Councillor Richard Ferry, St.Helens Council's Executive Member for Urban Regeneration stated; “ I am delighted that Lancashire Tea is supporting our events. It is a great way to promote their brand and is part of our wider campaign to work with local businesses and find enterprising schemes which deliver mutual benefits to the residents of the borough and provide potential routes to increasing market share in this difficult economic climate."
