i3 extends its networks
Newton-le-Willows-based supplier of fibre optic cable networks i3 Group has acquired North Wales rival Fibre Associates, which is branded Fibre @.
The acquisition will enable the group to simplify its own supply chain and improve fibre component procurement.
i3 has pioneered the installation of broadband fibre optic cables through sewer networks and has recently set up a South African subsidiary with UK-trained staff.
Chief executive Elfed Thomas said: “There is huge requirement for fibre optic networks, which in the past have been too costly to implement. Projects i3 has already completed in the UK, including installations in Bournemouth and Dundee, prove our system is cost-effective
